"I went to buy beige and got to the fabric store and saw this color and fell in love with it."
Before they moved in to the spec home in a Waterville subdivision 11 years ago, they asked the builders to remove the berber carpet from the first floor and lay it in the basement. Then, Mr. Schramm, a retired furnace operator at Chrysler’s Toledo Machining Plant, installed drywall and painted brick walls white.
On the portion of the ceiling that had heating ducts and support beams, he built a simple wooden framework. His sons, Jeff and Richard Schramm, and friend,ceramic magic cube for the medical, Dave Parsons, pitched in.
