Moving and rotating blocks is a bit too imprecise with the front screen, so you’re better off using the thumbstick or d-pad to move the blocks and the triggers or face buttons to rotate. The touch controls are a nice inclusion, but I was just as glad to default to what I am used to.
You’ll progress form skin to skin until you lose by reaching the top of the screen. At that point, you can bank your experience points and score by quitting out. You can also restart from the beginning of the skin with your points reset. As you progress through the player levels, your accumulated experience will unlock new skins and avatars. You can also gift these via the game’s NEAR functionality, which also means you can happen upon unlockables that you haven’t yet earned yourself. It’s a great implementation for the system, unlike what I’ve seen in some other games.

There is also a Stopwatch mode that tasks you with scoring as much as you can within your selected time limit.
